Meta-Lite was founded in 1978 as a custom metal fabricator for all types of metal work. It was originally located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ and is now located in a large modern facility in Clifton, NJ.

In the beginning Meta-Lite produced custom lighting fixtures along with items for the U.S. Postal Service. During the early 1980's in roads were made in the toll booth industry. At first repair work was the only thing done. As time wore on Meta-Lite produced complete toll booths as per the plans and specifications of the various agencies.

Lateral moves were made to other transportation industries such as mass transit, airline and airport industries. In 1992 Meta-Lite was awarded the largest single toll booth contract ever initiated in this country. Meta-Lite successfully completed a contract for 80 NY State Thruway Authority toll booths.

More recently Meta-Lite has produced for the NY City Transit Authority 5000 stainless steel rails and gates in two decorative patterns used in the refurbishing of the subway stations in New York City. Examples of our products range from stainless steel functional louvers, maximum security prison cells and showers, mirror polished brass architectural millwork, toll booth cabinets, stainless steel housings, aluminum sign frames, decorative information kiosks, and tunnel shelters.
